Under The Sea

<<OOC>> Maya says "When last we saw our heroes, they were performing various sorts of washing and recostuming as they recovered from their sojourn in Elizabethan times."

<<OOC>> Maya says "While speeding towards a point somewhere in the Northern Hemisphere, and knowing that the TARDIN was short on fuel."

<<OOC>> Maya says "Where are you both, at the moment?"

<<OOC>> Mikki is either bathing, or finished and curled up next to the control center, reading documentation and apologizing for not feeding the poor hungry time machine sooner.

<<OOC>> Jin has finished picking up an appropriate set of clothing to suit her adult vessel for the time period, and having already checked in on the bath-appreciating Djinn, is now busy in the library looking for more information on this new time period and location.

In the control panel, the main viewscreen begins to flash and ripple, with strange streaks of colour crawling through the visual representation of the time-space vortex. The TARDIN itself begins to rock and shake, books rustling in the shelves of the library, Mikki's tools clattering inside her toolbox.

Mikki hugs the control center, in a place where elbows won't bump anything important. "You can do it, baby!" she coos encouragingly.

Jin closes the book she's been reading, and hurries back towards the control room to see what fresh disaster has appeared. Or, well, it might be the old disaster. Hard to say.

The central column begins to rise and fall, and Jin can feel the sensation of reentering real-space/time. The machinery groans and judders.

Mikki coos reassuring encouragement to the device.

<<OOC>> Sirea prts. Hmmm. Assumes Lede would just blunder along to ask why the giant artifact wants to shake hard and make her fall over and go ow.

<<OOC>> arcangel wonders what happens to Lede's Heart upon arrival... Or Discord catching up? hmmm!

The TARDIN comes to a stop with a rattling thud that shakes the entire ship. (And that conveniently knocks out Lan and Deoradhan.)

<<OOC>> Sirea heeee. >:D | Lede sniffles blandly.

Ledenyca stumbles in, still in her sweat pants and sweater (which she is becoming somewhat close to obsessively attached to, COMFORT), and sadly asks, "What's going on? Are we going to blow up?"

Mikki falls over on the floor, and groans faintly as she wakens.

Jin pulls herself from the place she ended on the floor, and finishes her trip into the control room. "Mikki? Are you okay?" she asks, crouching down next the Impudite. She holds off on answering the Djinn's question until she's a little more sure of the answers.

Mikki slurs, "...'sokay, baby, daddy's here, you c'n do it..."

The viewscreen displays an exterior view of a bland metal corridor with glass panels inset in the walls.

Ledenyca carefully lets go of the wall, and makes her way over to the pair.

Jin offers Mikki a hand up (and a quick check for obvious injuries). "I don't think we're going to blow up," she tells Lede. "Or we would have done so already."

Ledenyca says "Oh. Okay."

MIkki is helped up. "Should... should be fine. 'Sa good time machine, yes it is, yes it is..."

Ledenyca looks at the screen. "What is that?"

With an almost audible click, Jin's interior chronometer/locator resets itself. 11:14 am, 30th March 1892. Location: bottom of Arctic ocean.

<<OOC>> arcangel dies a bit. Just so you know.

Jin holds onto Mikki for a moment longer, but begins paying more attention to the viewscreens. "I'm not entirely sure yet," she says, and then pauses. "...oh. Wait. On second thought, I am. We're...under the ocean. That's not a good sign," she adds, though she feels that conclusion should be fairly obvious.

Mikki says, "...How far under?"

Ledenyca frowns, and stops swinging her arms at her side. "...the ocean?"

Jin says "Bottom of the Arctic Ocean. In some sort of facility, which does imply Vapulans. Lightning is a possibility, but...I wouldn't count on it."

<<OOC>> Maya says "How could I not have a Victorian Steampunk Submarine episode?"

Jin considers which would be more awkward. Almost certainly the former. Though there are certain problems with the latter, especially if the place is staffed by the wrong Choirs.

<<OOC>> arcangel cackles.

<<OOC>> Jin giggles.

Ledenyca isn't sure she likes this thing's idea of a good place to arrive. "Is that bad no matter what, then? The ocean is cold, too."

<<OOC>> Sirea hehehe.

Mikki sighs. "Oh, I do hope no one recognizes me... At least this isn't my favorite vessel..."

Jin hmms. "If we're lucky, we might be able to get what we need without detection. Mikki, do you have any idea what sort of surveillance equipment would be available in this era?"

Ledenyca says "Oh yes. You are a... um... person, of that future Prince. Don't worry. You can stand behind me if you need to."

Mikki folds her arms and thinks hard about what Vapulans might have had. Absently, she says, "Thanks."

<<OOC>> arcangel says "INT roll?"

<<OOC>> Maya says "Sure."

<> Arcangel rolls the d666 and gets 6 2 CHECK: 1.

<<OOC>> Mikki thinks the CD is sucky, but vaguely recalls being pretty smart...

<<OOC>> Maya says "No closed circuit videocameras. Possibly tripwire or similar-sensor cameras."

<<OOC>> arcangel says "Int 8, yes."

Mikki says, "Tripwires... Sensor-triggered cameras... Shouldn't be any standard sercurity cams."

There are no obvious cameras in the corridor outside.

Jin mms. "That might be helpful." She eyes the still-empty corridor. "Let's do a quick check to see how Lan and Deo are. If they're injured, we ought to help them, and if they're awake, a larger group may be better."

Ledenyca looks at the two other demons. "What are we going to do? Do we have to enter there so we can make the artifact leave?"

Mikki says, "I don't know... Lede, right? How about you help Jin check, and I stay here and watch _our_ camera?"

Ledenyca says "Ledenyca, uh-huh. Okay. I'll help Jin."

Ledenyca swaddles off with the Elohite to go see how the others fare.

"Good idea," Jin says. "Please call if anyone comes into view, Mikki." And promptly heads back into the ship to see how Lan and Deo are.

Mikki waves a hand, and pats the console lovingly.

It is easy enough to find the two others; Lan is in the gymnasium, while Deoradhan is in the bedroom she claimed as her own. Both are unconscious, having suffered minor head injuries during the traumatic landing.

<> Maya rolls the d666 and gets 4 4 CHECK: 2.

Nobody comes down the passage outside. Possibly it is one of the quieter areas of this presumable underwater base?

Ledenyca frowns, poking at Lan carefully when he is found. The Malakite is out. This is both a very worrisome and relieving fact.

Mikki hopes that the cloaking device is, well, cloaking appropriately.

Jin does a quick check for unseen further injuries, then promptly heads back towards the control room.

Ledenyca follows along without comment, glad to see nobody is dead. Yet.

Jin says "Mikki, any new info?"

Mikki shakes her head. "No one's come by here."

<<OOC>> Maya says "Does Mikki want to try and scan with the controls for any energy sources, etc?"

Woozily, Mikki decides... that yes, it would be good to look for _baby's food_!

<<OOC>> arcangel was just getting there, hee!

<<OOC>> Maya says "Gimme a roll, baby!"

<> Arcangel rolls the d666 and gets 5 1 CHECK: 6.

<<OOC>> Mikki thinks that looks like a good roll? Hopefully?

<<OOC>> Jin says "Mm, nice CD."

<<OOC>> Jin says "(Unless it's a failure. Then not so much.)"

<<OOC>> Maya says "Indeed."

Ledenyca looks over the controls that Mikki manipulates with a wary gaze. Such a big and confusion machine... but the lights are so pretty.

With careful manipulation of the controls, and the occasional hard wallop, Mikki ascertains that there are radioactive emissions which could include fissionable thorium to the south-east. There is also some sort of power source which is setting off dials on the Celestial, Corporeal, and Ethereal Radioactivity scans to the direct south. The dials seem to be hovering at an unusually high level marked in red with skulls and crossbones.

Jin waits patiently for results, keeping a close eye on the monitor displaying the corridor outside.

Mikki ponders. "Um. Well, we could go south-east. Or we could go south and find out what's making all this... Um. Oh, I do hope they're not making relic nuclear wessles."

Ledenyca blinks a few times, and is unsure of what to say. So she states, "That red skull thingy looks bad."

<<OOC>> Mikki was a good little Vapudite! She watched _all_ the Star Trek movies! You never know when something might be useful, if only for the technobabble.

Jin mms. "That would certainly be out-of-timeline, unless Lightning found out, put a stop to it, and then didn't feel obliged to tell everyone else. Which is entirely possible, given how close that Word can play some missions."

<<OOC>> Maya whistles.

Mikki twitches. "Well... we'd better find out what's going on, get the baby food, and get _out_ of here before that happens. I don't want to meet anyone working for _him!_"

Jin considers. "We could wait for Lan and Deo to wake up, for additional backup, but I'm not sure we want to remain here without any idea what dangers wait indefinitely. Let's go ahead and scout out the area. If we're lucky, we may be able to get what we need and lead before being detected."

Jin looks to Mikki and Lede for any objections to this proposed plan.

Ledenyca mmmms. And suddenly wonders about her Heart. Andrealphus wouldn't come to the bottom of some cold ocean in a big metal place... would he? She can't think of one erotic thing that could exist here. Unless the Prince has a cold and metal fetish this century.

Ledenyca shrugs at the Elohite. "I will do what you tell me to do."

Mikki dithers. "How about... You two go look and I'll see if I can find a geiger counter, and catch up with you? Or... radios, even? Walkie-talkies?"

Ledenyca blinks at the strange lingo. She just nods dumbly.

Jin nods. "No time to waste, but communication would be good." She smiles briefly at Mikki. "If you notice us running back down the corridor with some urgency, please open the door."

<<OOC>> Maya snickers. "Nice to meet you, Rose Tyler. Run for your life!"

Mikki says, "Of course!"

<<OOC>> arcangel giggles!

Jin considers Lede's sweatpants and comfy shirt. If they're spotted within a closed Vapulan facility, they're already in trouble. It'll have to do. She's glad she hadn't changed into period footwear already.

Jin moves for the door. "Stay close, please, Lede. And let me know if you see anything that looks dangerous."

<<OOC>> Maya says "I take it you're in female period clothing as an adult woman, Jin? Shirtwaist and long skirt?"

<<OOC>> Maya says "Or are you being a kid again?"

<<OOC>> Jin nods. "Adult, this time. How low do those skirts go?"

<<OOC>> Maya says "Ankle is acceptable. You can probably get away without a corset."

<<OOC>> Jin says "(Because Jin hasn't swapped shoes yet, so I think that means she's still in the shoes this vessel was wearing back in modern time. Practical plain black sneakers.)"

<<OOC>> arcangel giggles!

<<OOC>> Jin will be action skirted!

<<OOC>> Maya nods!

The corridor outside is still empty and quiet.

Ledenyca says "I will, Jin. You can depend on me."

Ledenyca keeps her eyes as sharp as can be, as she slowly makes her way out with the Elohite. She's so happy with these clothes on. It makes moveing so much easier.

Jin takes a moment to look back and see what the time machine has disguised itself as this time around.

The air outside has a tinny, metallic smell to it, with a slight undertone of unwashed clothing and stale cabbage. This is probably more noticeable to Jin than to Ledenyca. The corridor travels north-south. The TARDIN has taken the appearance of a very large metal cupboard.

Outside one of the glass windows, a shark glides slowly by in the distance.

Ledenyca eeeps a little, and stays right behind Jin, looking around at everything.

Jin takes off down the south direction, striding briskly along (though she is making some effort to be quiet about it). South-east is only so much, as directions go, but it'll have to do.

The corridor is straight and peaceful, with occasional doors to the right and left. There is a T-junction ahead in the distance.

Ledenyca opens her mouth a few times to ask something or make comment, but each time she thinks better of it, and presses her lips shut. She keeps right behind Jin, trying to be as quiet as she can.

Jin slows down as the T-junction approaches, to check for oncoming traffic. Either down the east end where they're going, or down the west end where it would be right behind them.

<<OOC>> Maya says "Stealth-type roll, please."

<<OOC>> Ledenyca oh no. Is like a /shadow/ celestially, but a loud panzer tank corporeally.

<> Ledenyca rolls the d666 and gets 6 5 CHECK: 5.

<<OOC>> Ledenyca >___<

<<OOC>> Ledenyca takes out some pots and a kazoo, and starts to play a tune!

<> Jin rolls the d666 and gets 1 2 CHECK: 3.

<<OOC>> Jin is perhaps slightly more sneaky.

<<OOC>> Jin is a ninja in the night! Ha ha! For, um, polite, objective values of ninja, that can't hit first and thus politely taps victims on the shoulder and waits for an attack before hitting back.

To the west is plain corridor. To the east is short corridor leading to a door which is guarded by a bored-looking man in grey overalls with a gun, who is now standing up straight abruptly, as though he has heard approaching footsteps.

<<OOC>> arcangel loves ninJin.

<<OOC>> Ledenyca is a tank, at least. Smash go boom.

Jin frowns, considering this for a moment. If she walks right up, shots likely /will/ be fired, which would allow her to take care of this problem, but also more than likely alert other people in the base. On the other hand, she has no Songs that would make her more stealthy, even if the disturbance wouldn't be an alarm of its own.

Ledenyca carefully whispers "What are we to do?"

The man is not wearing any obvious signs of identification, badges, etc.

<<OOC>> arcangel . o O (Go back and ask Mikki how to say, "As you were, guard" in Helltongue?)

<<OOC>> arcangel says "(Though really, Lede could answer that, too.)"

Jin slides back towards Ledenyca. "Mikki might be able to talk her way in," she murmurs, "but we are in a hurry. I believe we'll simply have to go for the upfront approach." She pauses, and considers the resources at her disposal. "Do you think you'd be able to remove that gun from the man before he could fire it? Or keep him from shouting out if I did so?"

Ledenyca says "Gun? Is that the metal thing he's holding? I can try. I can hit him really hard, and then try holding him."

Ledenyca frets to herself, and has to wonder, for one second, how in the Hell she went from being maidservant to sneaking around the Arctic ocean. Oh well.

Jin mms. Not very stealthy, but given the options...

<<OOC>> Jin says "About how far down the corridor is this guard? As in, how many rounds would it take to actually get there and do something... This is not a good plan if he can fire off three shots before we can arrive."

<<OOC>> Jin also, has all the strategic mind of a turtle, so, er. If anyone has other suggestions...

Ledenyca says "Is it a male?"

Jin nods, still thinking.

Ledenyca says "Oh. Alright. I think I have an idea."

Ledenyca promptly takes her sweater off.

<<OOC>> arcangel | Lede takes her shirt off...

<<OOC>> arcangel DIES CACKLING.

<<OOC>> Maya says "The guard's about fifteen metres down the corridor."

Ledenyca hands it to Jin.

<<OOC>> Maya says "Did Ledenyca bother with underwear, or not?"

<<OOC>> Ledenyca dun think so, unless it was around, and was instructed as to its use.

<<OOC>> Maya says "Right. ;)"

Jin takes the sweater, and...does not blink. Well. Perhaps a demon would better know how to handle demons.

<<OOC>> arcangel says "You know, buxom naked redhead? GURPS Bulletproof Nudity would apply!"

<<OOC>> Maya says "No, no, it's Modesty Blaise. ;)"

Ledenyca says "Okay. I will walk up to him, and then I will hit him, and then take the gun away. I hope this works. Should I take my pants off too?"

<<OOC>> Jin really hopes this is a good idea, and that he's not just surrounded by completely insane demons.

Jin hmms. "If you think it would help."

<<OOC>> Mikki would approve of it!

Ledenyca says "I don't know what these Vapula demons like."

Ledenyca considers. No, keep pants on. Maybe future-pants are very alluring. She will see.

Jin . o O ( Time machines, judging by data observed sofar. )

<<OOC>> Mikki . o O (By the Genius Prince's Computerized Underwear, YES.)

The guard relaxes, evidently having decided that the noises were randon creaking from fathoms of seawater above.

Ledenyca undoes her hair, shakes it a little, and then arranges it so it covers her chest. "Do I look right?"

Jin looks over the Djinn's vessel. "I believe so." For certain very strange values of "right".

Ledenyca says "Okay. I'll try now."

Ledenyca huffs her chest out, scratches one of her ears, and takes 2 seconds to remember proper walking in order to make a male distracted enough to not think right. Oh, right, the fake smile too. That's supposed to help.

Ledenyca puts on her best face, and then proceeds to srut around the corner, slowly making her way towatds the guard with lidded eyes and a crooked smile. Ugh. She hates this. At least she can hit him if it works.

The guard begins to raise his gun as he catches sight of Ledenyca, but then it droops as he fully takes in the sight of Ledenyca. His mouth gapes in a stupid sort of way. "Er... madam... esteemed visitor... may I be of any assistance?" he asks hopefully.

Jin . o O ( ...okay, time for me to start considering /more/ strategies that hadn't previously occurred to me, for dealing with unusual situations. )

Ledenyca walks up to the man, slowly, she puts on a pouty and confused look, and then, as close as she can before he looks alerted, she sweeps her hair back and thrusts her chest out. Come on. Take the bait.

The guard gapes some more, and then salutes rapidly, hand to forehead in a respectful manner.

<<OOC>> arcangel chortles.

<> Maya rolls the d666 and gets 3 2 CHECK: 6.

The guard says, "Madam, I apologise! We were not warned that the delegation was due today! But I am afraid you're in the wrong quarter of the base."

Ledenyca smiles pertly. "You're a very good guard. Very respectful. You should be... rewarded."

<<OOC>> Jin dies.

Ledenyca's mind races. Is that how you throw them off? Should be. Come on, start drooling! That's the sign that they're vulnerable to a fist in the gut!

The guard falls to his knees, looking up admiringly. "Thank you, madam! It is my priviledge to serve!"

<<OOC>> Maya says "Actually, Ledenyca, you're getting Hellsworn rather than Full Demon cues here."

<<OOC>> Mikki... thinks that Lede is a wonderful addition to the crew. Utterly.

Ledenyca oooos. She walks up to the man, gently takes his head in her hands, strokes it once or twice while smiling at him, and then proceeds to slam her knee into his face.

<<OOC>> Jin is agreeing on this, yes.

<<OOC>> (Meanwhile, Mikki goes looking for tools, and will be heading after everyone in a bit...)

<<OOC>> Ledenyca roll for kneeing poor little Hellsworn? :D

<<OOC>> Maya says "Roll, but with a heap of bonuses. ;)"

<> Ledenyca rolls the d666 and gets 1 4 CHECK: 4.

<<OOC>> Ledenyca already has a huge Fighting bonus too... >_>

The guard is neatly knocked unconscious, and subsides with a broken nose and a happy smile.

<<OOC>> Ledenyca has a corporeal Fight TN of 18, so you know.

<<OOC>> Maya nods. ;)

Ledenyca whews. She takes the gun thingy, pats the guy on the head, arranges him against the wall, and makes her way back to Jin, but doesn't run. Bounces too much. Ow. "Okay. All done."

<<OOC>> Mikki fears disturbance.

Jin quickly strides out into the corridor. "Nice work," she says, and hands Lede her shirt back. She moves to examine the door that had been under guard.

Ledenyca hands the gun to Jin, and pins her hair back up, and tosses her sweater on. Ahhh! Much better. It's cold.

<<OOC>> Maya says "Hm."

<<OOC>> Maya says "Actually, this whole place is emitting a low-grade hum of quiet Disturbance."

Ledenyca also smiles a little. She did good! Yay!

<<OOC>> Maya says "Something Celestially against the Natural Order is going on here!"

<<OOC>> Ledenyca o.o !

<<OOC>> Mikki meeps.

The door has a straightforward lock on it. The gun is a plain Victorian pistol. (I do not know much in the way of detail here.)

<<OOC>> Jin uh-oh.

<<OOC>> Jin ...doesn't think she has any lockpicking skills. Hmm.

Jin leans against the door for a moment to listen for noise on the other side.

<<OOC>> Maya says "Want to check the guard's pockets?"

<<OOC>> Jin says "Lede has a much higher Perception, but I don't think Jin's realized that yet."

<<OOC>> Jin facepalms. "That...would also be intelligent, yes."

There are low humming, clanking noises on the other side of the door.

Jin stoops down to rifle the guard's pockets for a key.

The guard has a ring of keys in his pockets. Also a packet of pornographic French postcards involving women in corsets posing in and out of baths.

Ledenyca waits by the door, and tsks at the guard. Poor guy. She never will understand why mammaries fascinate humans, and a lot of demons, so much. But it is handy. She takes a moment to lean on the door, and listen to the noise.

<<OOC>> Maya says "Hm. Ledenyca, you hear clanking, humming noises, and a couple of voices in blurred conversation."

Ledenyca says "Jin. There are talking people. Am I going to have to take my shirt off again? I don't think it works well when there are a lot of people..."

Mikki, armed with whatever she could find -- which may be only a screwdriver and tool kit -- heads out after the intrepid duo. She locks the time machine behind her. And leaves a note for the unconscious duo.

Jin pulls out the ring of keys, stuffing the photographs back in. "I certainly hope the delegation isn't--" She pauses. "Oh. Mm. No, we'll want another tactic for that." She views the unconscious guard ruefully. Might've been handier to get him to talk for them, but wasn't sure how well she could have managed it. Too late for regrets now.

Fortunately, Jin and Ledenyca have not got that far yet. Mikki sees them when she peers round the corner.

Mikki says, quietly, "Psst?"

Ledenyca turns around, and waves to Mikki.

Jin looks back, and motions Mikki on.

<<OOC>> Jin isn't sure an Elohite/Djinn brainjar is a good thing...

<<OOC>> Ledenyca hehehe.

Mikki trots over to the pair and examines the unconscious guard with a faintly worried expression. . o O (Oh, good, he's breathing.)

<<OOC>> see says ""What? Elohim aren't allowed to act on emotions, Djinn aren't supposed to act like they care, it's a match made in . . . ."

Jin gestures to the door. "Voices beyond," she says, in a low voice. "We probably have the keys, but it complicates matters. Suggestions? They mentioned an upcoming delegation, though it's not expected today, and we don't know details beyond that."

Mikki hms and sets her ear to the door to see if she can make out at least what language is being spoken.

Ledenyca tells Mikki, "Taking my shirt off probably won't work with this. And there are too many to use Dark Desire on. I think."

Unfortunately, the voices are too quiet to work out what language is being used.

<<OOC>> Maya says "Out of curiosity, what is Mikki wearing?"

<<OOC>> arcangel says "Mikki is probably wearing something convenient and comfortable. If there were a nice techy-looking jumpsuit around, she'd probably be wearing it..."

<<OOC>> Maya says "Right."

Mikki says, absently, "A strategic use of that on one of them, for sexually assaulting another, could provide a vast distraction. Is that how you took out the guard? Half-naked? It worked well?"

Ledenyca says "Um. I walked up to him, and I said he was nice, and he leaned down, and I hit him."

Ledenyca says "It seemed to work well."

Mikki nods. "Useful." She tries to figure out how far away the voices from the door, and if she could crack it open.

Jin says, straight-faced, "It wasn't a strategy that would have occurred to me, but it did seem effective."

<> Maya rolls the d666 and gets 5 4 CHECK: 1.

From the corridor to the north comes the distant, echoing sound of footsteps.

Jin . o O ( Note to self: request a more attractive vessel from David at the next opportunity, if this strategy seems frequently useful. )

Ledenyca uh ohs.

Jin frowns at the new sound, and glances about briefly for any place to store the unconscious guard.

Mikki pauses, and then squints at the guard, quickly comparing who's wearing what, and if there are hats or other props around.

Ledenyca looks around for a place to hide, or something.

The guard is wearing plain grey overalls.

There is nowhere convenient to stash him.

Ledenyca says "Do we run back to the artifact thing?"

Jin says "No time, and it would draw attention. Let's see who's coming, preferably before being seen ourselves."

Mikki sighs. "Hand me the gun, and at the least, you two can be the wookies."

Jin suits actions to words and heads back down to the intersection, to take a quick look down the corridor.

Jin . o O ( ...wookies? )

<<OOC>> Patkin says "I bet it's the delegation. From Hell!"

Ledenyca does the same, and wonders what a wookie is.

<<OOC>> Jin is perhaps less well-versed in pop culture than Mikki...

The footsteps come closer.

Ledenyca tries to place the number of people coming as she makes herself scarce.

Mikki will take charge of any weapons and prepare to fake capturing the other two.

A fashionably well-dressed (well, for the period -- clothing that expensive must surely be fashionable) young woman turns the corner of the corridor. She blinks, putting a pink-gloved hand to her mouth. "Oh, heavens! Am I in the wrong area?"

Ledenyca freezes, and looks at the others.

Mikki says, briskly, "Yes. May I see your identification, please?"

The young woman has pretty black hair put up in a bun, an elegant grey dress with old rose revers, gloves to match, and a parasol tucked under her arm. She looks, to put it frankly, guilty and knowing it.

The young woman gasps, "Oh, surely that won't be necessary! I . . . must just have missed my turning, you see . . ."

Jin waits politely to the side of Mikki, attempting to look vaguely subordinate, if attentive.

Ledenyca stands at attention! She's wearing gray too. Maybe they think she is also a guard.

Mikki says, "I'm sorry, miss. It's procedure, you know." She endevors to sound just a bit apologetic.

Ledenyca wonders at the woman's dress. Huh. These Vapulans sure do dress formally. Guess Mikki is the sloppy type.

<<OOC>> Mikki . o O (!?!)

<<OOC>> Jin hee.

The woman pouts. "Ah, perhaps I could -- that is, here is my identification, sir, and perhaps I could prevail on you not to mention this? A small favour, maybe?" She fishes in a small handbag, and pulls out a pass with a black-and-white photo and some lines in Helltongue on it.

<<OOC>> Maya says "Ledenyca, any Andrealphite would be utterly ashamed to be as poor at flirtation and attraction as this woman is."

The pass has a black-and-white photograph of the woman on it. The Helltongue reads: Sacharissa, Unbound Lilim, Cleared for Public Areas. There is also a Start Date (today) and an End Date (tomorrow).

Ledenyca resists letting out a loud grunt of derision. As much as she hates seduction, even her, as thick as she is, is leagues better than this woman. She allows herself to have a somewhat dissaproving look.

Mikki nudges... Jin, and makes a chin-gesture that someone _besides the Impudite holding the gun_ should go get the ID. Meanwhile, she says, "Well, assuming everything's in order... This _is_ a complex place to wander around in."

Ledenyca comes forward and grabs the ID. She hands it to Mikki.

The woman attempts to make big eyes and look admiring. "Oh, it is! I'm just so fascinated by everything . . . is there something important behind this door? You Vapulans have such _big_ impressive machines!"

Ledenyca says "Probably. A lot of humming noises."

The woman (or rather, Lilim) does not seem to consider the unconscious guard to be important. Perhaps she expects to see security teams leave a trail of unconscious bodies behind them.

Mikki examines the ID carefully and hands it back to Lede to return. "I'm afraid I can't discuss such matters, miss. Now, would that be an _official_ sort of favor?"

Ledenyca eyes the Lilim. If she didn't know better... well, she doesn't. She shrugs to herself, and keeps beside the other two angels.

<<OOC>> Mikki is not an angel! yet

<<OOC>> Ledenyca erk, angel and demon, yes. XD;

The Lilim hesitates. "Ah . . . well, I suppose it could be if you wanted one, madam. Assuming that you didn't mention my, um, little error in direction."

Ledenyca holds back a snort. Wow.

Jin continues to look bland at Mikki's side.

Mikki smiles, and wishes she had sunglasses. "I would be delighted to avoid having to fill out some paperwork, miss, for even a small consideration. I have... quite enough paperwork to look forward to already."

<> Maya rolls the d666 and gets 5 5 CHECK: 5.

<<OOC>> Maya says "Watch the Lilim fail her Perception. Fail, Lilim, fail!"

<<OOC>> Mikki prays she doesn't have Per 10... WHEEEE!

<<OOC>> Ledenyca says "OH GOD SHE GOT A... uh... a... hmmm. Maybe 555 is an Intervention for phones on TV."

<<OOC>> arcangel heehee!

The Lilim goes pale. "Ah, certainly. I wouldn't want to have to cause you any trouble, madam." She tucks her pass back into her handbag. "I'll be off to join the rest of the team, and I assure you that I'll be getting right back to the job . . ."

<<OOC>> Jin snerks.

<<OOC>> arcangel says "Hail Eris! All hail Discordia!"

Jin resonates the Lilim for signs of having seen the wrong thing.

<> Jin rolls the d666 and gets 1 3 CHECK: 5.

Ledenyca sniffs a little, and blands.

Mikki says, "Of course. You can find your way back all right?" She tries to sound helpful.

<<OOC>> Jin says "That should be a success. Response if Jin said that they actually needed to ask a few more questions."

<<OOC>> Maya says "Okay. The Lilim is all panicky, with a strong note of inexperience and urgency, but none of it is about the guard; it's all about herself and you three. If Jin said that they needed to ask more questions, she'd comply willingly."

The Lilim says, "Certainly, madam! Back up to the north and turn west to the communal quarters."

<<OOC>> Mikki thinks Elohim are SO COOL.

<<OOC>> Ledenyca toooo.

<<OOC>> Jin hrm. If it doesn't include the guard, it probably isn't a "Oh my God these people shouldn't be here" panic.

Ledenyca vaguely wonders if the Lilim is a Vapulan at all.

<<OOC>> Maya says "It's more an "oh my god I got caught somewhere I shouldn't be with naughtiness aforethought" panic."

<<OOC>> Jin says "(Especially if she's willing to hang around for more questions.) Check."

<<OOC>> Maya says "It said that she was Unbound on the pass, Ledenyca."

<<OOC>> Ledenyca nods. Meant IST wise.

<<OOC>> Maya says "Right."

<<OOC>> Ledenyca says "Frees are sneaky! They can serve one Word, while really serving another!"

<<OOC>> Jin says "Sneeeeeaky!"

Jin waits for the Lilim to leave, continuing the bland support-personnel look.

<<OOC>> Mikki will be happy to defer to Jin if Jin wants to ask more questions. Mikki also would like to have a promise on the Lilim, but may not think to ahem about it, being a bit nervous herself. }:(

Jin . o O ( Okay, ways to contact Lightning about this base without raising interesting questions about how we found out and our proper time, before leaving... Tricky. )

Ledenyca stifles a yawn. Well. No shirt-removal for this one at least. She hopes she didn't try to read her Needs. That would be uncomfortable.

<<OOC>> Jin has no questions! Was just checking for signs of having Found Out.

The Lilim says hopefully, "If that will be all, ladies?"

Ledenyca shrugs.

Mikki coughs, with hopeful eyebrows.

Jin nods politely.

Jin waits to see if Mikki's going to press the favor issue, or get this Lilim out of their hair.

Ledenyca, feeling that the other two have it handled, takes a moment to quickly check the knocked-out guard, and give the door a quick listen, to make sure everything is safe.

<<OOC>> Mikki hopes for just one little hour... but really, even an unofficial sort of promise would probably suffice.

The Lilim coughs. "Oh yes. The favour. I, um, nearly forgot. Would an official favour of moderate size -- say, a week or so -- be sufficient, madam?" She looks hopeful.

The conversation behind the door seems to have stopped, though the clanking and humming continues. The guard is still out for the count.

Mikki says, "That would be wonderful, miss. I'm sure that such a responsible lady as yourself won't require any escort whatsoever."

Ledenyca whews. She keeps by the door, just in case. She also wants to avoid eye-contact with the Lilim.

The Lilim looks much relieved. "Thank you!" she says hastily, before turning and briskly trotting off and round the corner.

<<OOC>> Mikki wonders how promises should feel, and hopes that this one feels right. And if not, erm, oh, well...

Ledenyca ffffts when the Lilim is out of sight. "She was an awful flirt."

<<OOC>> Maya says "I'm not really sure how a Lilim's self-imposed promise feels to the person she's making the promise to."

<<OOC>> arcangel says "Theoretically, there'd be a Geas-token?"

<<OOC>> Maya says "In the corporeal?"

<<OOC>> arcangel says "No, true, though Mikki should probably feel _something_ if she concentrates. Probably. Maybe. Perhaps."

<<OOC>> arcangel grins.

<<OOC>> Maya says "Assume she does, then, whatever it should be. ;)"

<<OOC>> arcangel grins.

Jin gestures briefly to the door. "And now getting back to /this/ matter..."

MIkki says, "I liked her, I think. Sort of." She goes to check on the guard again -- don't want him dying! And then listens at the door herself.

Ledenyca says "Maybe we should just walk in and pretend to be important."

Jin says "...that has had a surprising amount of success, so far. But we'll want a backup plan."

Ledenyca says "We can hit them."

Mikki says, "I wish I had a clipboard... Lede distracts them with Dark Desire, hits them, and if they're demons, we shoot them in the head?"

Ledenyca seems to agree.

<<OOC>> Maya says "Mikki, give me an Int roll on Standard Vapulan Procedures (at a penalty)."

<> Arcangel rolls the d666 and gets 2 3 CHECK: 6.

<<OOC>> Mikki makes Int by 3...

Ledenyca says "I can pretend to be your... guard? Concubine? Whatever is supposed to work for Vapulans."

Mikki says, thoughtfully, "Guard. You're not cyborged enough to be a concubine."

<<OOC>> Mikki knows what she likes... <_< >_>

Ledenyca says "I'm not... what? Well, alright."

<<OOC>> Maya says "Hm. On long-haul isolated Vapulan projects with a lot of low-grade minions or Hellsworn, it is occasionally practice to bring in "creature comforts" to keep the minions functioning efficiently -- ie, low-grade Vapulans or Lilim geased to secrecy or imps/etc in cheap vessels, etc."

<<OOC>> Jin snickers at Mikki.

Mikki says, "Could pretend you're here to be someone _else's_ concubine, though. Till you get close enough to hit them."

<<OOC>> Jin wonders if he should be objecting to this "attack first" plan, but, really, it's practical, and so long as /he/ isn't breaking his dissonance condition, it's not like he's obliged to hold anyone else to it.

<<OOC>> Mikki would rather avoid everyone, pretend that they belong here, get what the time machine needs, and get out. After, er, stopping anything that wasn't supposed to happen.

Ledenyca says "Okay. I'll just say what they seem like they wish to hear. And then hit them. Or remove my shirt."

Jin nods to this. "Given the potential time pressure, this seems like the best we'll manage on short notice."

Mikki tests the door, assuming she hears nothing behind it that sounds like talking.
