The emotion in the boy's eyes, as he'd looked up at Nii, was a crude sort of thing. It was as if the boy had believed in Nii even when he hadn't believed in God.
The hollow echo-chamber of Nii's heart points out that God does not exist.
And sometimes he wonders whether he does.
