"Look," Narumi says to the boy, tossing a coin up and down, making it vanish into one ear, drawing it out of the other.
The boy frowns, then giggles, then laughs until his mother drags him away with apologies.
Narumi puts his chin on his hands and frowns.
"Is something the matter?" Lucille asks, approaching in a rustling of starched skirts.
"I was never that good before," Narumi grinds out. "Even when both my hands were real."
Lucille shrugs. "My hands used to know how to thread a needle, before the aqua vitae."
"Oh?"
"Now they forget." She turns away.
