"I still think you've got it wrong," Kagami said stubbornly. "I look at you, but I'm not seeing me. It's just . . . not quite right." He shrugged. "But I can't say how."

Envy paused, then snapped his fingers. "Got it," he said, and his body rippled and reformed into Kagami's likeness.

"Yes," Kagami said, walking up to stare closely into his own face. "Yes, you've got it this time. I still don't know quite how it was wrong, though."

"Simple." Envy shrugged. "You're so used to looking at yourself in mirrors that you expect to see your mirror image -- that is, reversed, not your normal image. I was just showing you as you are, before. That was why it seemed wrong."

"Oh," Kagami said. He twitched an elegant shoulder, and turned away.
