all through the night

Days of scrubbing and sneers have worn Martha down. Nights on a hard mattress with cold draughts coming in round the door have kept her down.

She rises at dawn, because that's what a maid does, and brings the Doctor his tea, and is able to check that he's safe and well and that it's all still working.

It matters to her that he trusts her. Just as he's depending on her now, she depends on the hope of him. When he wakes up, he'll take her away from all of this.

She thinks of him, hourly, waking and sleeping.
