Unohana-taichou was, after all, the Captain, and it was her umbrella. But Isane herself was much taller than Unohana-taichou. It only made sense for Isane to carry the umbrella.
She comforted herself with the thought that of course a Vice-Captain carried the umbrella for her Captain.
This left her, however, with the situation when they'd reached Unohana-taichou's house of did she ask if she could borrow the umbrella or did she walk to her own rooms and get wet . . .
"Come in," Unohana-taichou said, and her lips curved in a smile. "I'll make tea."
