Ulquiorra is amused by the constant little smile which Ichimaru Gin wears. He recognises it for insecurity. However much Ichimaru may have done for Aizen-sama in the past, Ulquiorra can do it all now; do it better, do more. Ichimaru may attempt to hide his hatred of the Arrankar, but Ulquiorra knows it's there. Each time he speaks to Aizen-sama in Ichimaru's presence, he can see a shadow behind the shinigami's eyes. But he's polite. Always polite.

Gin smiles his happy little smile at Ulquiorra, and thinks about Hinamori-kun, and unquestioning devotion, and the feeling as the sword goes in.
