"Sir," Nanao said flatly, "kindly don't be absurd."
"Seriously, Nanao-chan --"
"What remains of the Division has been merged with Tenth. Hitsugaya-taichou commands it admirably. I have a responsibility to you. Sir."
Ukitake rose to his feet. "I hope you will be able to keep up, Ise-kun," he said with a faint smile.
"Of course she will," Shunsui said, and the tempest was on them.
