A wintry land, Corilaine: a world where Harla ruled, the daughter of Arthur Pendragon: until the day she left it to be wed to a stranger, one Oberon of a kingdom known as Amber.
When they brought her dead body home, her son Delwin and her daughter Sand came with her. Sand, the warrior queen: Delwin, the master sorcerer.
Seal the kingdom, close all the doors, rear a fortress of thorns to keep out intruders.
But one winter, storms past imagining shook Corilaine. Some matter had passed beyond its boundaries. Something that required investigation.
And so it was that Sand returned to Amber.
Sand, occasional troubadour and frequent jongleur, fond of her sword and fond of using it: a Queen of her country, and a sometimes visitor to Amber: sister to Julian, Random, and others. Fond of hunting.
And very, very secretive.
