V2000 is the long-awaited update to the 80's hit Virus by David Braben. Attracting accolades from all over the games industry, V2000 is a shining example of giving gameplay the priority in game design. But hey - in this day and age, things can look good as well as playing well, so you'll be pleased to know that the visuals are as good as it gets as well!

This is my attempt at producing a guide to the first few levels - hopefully I'll add more as I progress in the game. You can select parts of the guide by clicking on the menu to the left. Each world has its own page, which includes a map along with directions to the goodies found on each level. Oh, and some tips on completing each level, natch.

SITE HISTORY

27 November - initial release. Includes levels peasant, castle, medieval, alpine, amazon. Also includes missing images, mismatched colours....
30 November - "bug" fix report: I just bought a Maxi Gamer Voodoo Banshee, and it caused V2000 to display "grid lines" all over the display, and also seemed to be significantly slower than the Voodoo 1 I had previously been using. A quick search of dejanews turned up the goods - and a BIOS update from the guillemot website cured the problem. 1024x768 is now fine - droool.
2 December - added some more "blobs" to the worlds page
7 december - added a few new worlds - colorado, jungle, marbles, sunny ice. Have now beaten Nuclear Submarine, so should get a few more levels up soon.
Also found a new warp on Colorado to Jungle, and added the 0:0 warp to the Castle page.
15 December - added more worlds - epedemic, high plateau, tidal, windy island Unfortunately I forgot the corresponding blobs, so I'll have to get them done soon. Have now completed up to Alien Two, with only a few more worlds to find. More blobs, maps and guides soon... I've also been working on the weapons guide, so that can go up soon.
16 December - Added blobs and maps that were missing from previous upload. Game are selling V2000 for £24.95, so if you haven't bought it yet, here's your chance to snap it up at a bargain price!
29 December - Sorry for the lack of updates. I have now finished the game, completing every level except for Canyon. Unfortunately I now have acquired an N64 along with Zelda, so things may be a little slow. I will try to finish off the guide, but please bear with me. If you have any questions or requests, please mail me..
Oh, and Dixons are selling V2000 at 19.99 if anyone is still looking for a copy..
