This unofficial web site is devoted to the Boughton Barracuda - an awesome, Thunderbird-like Fire Tender of which three are deployed at Humberside International Airport. They weigh 32 tons fully laden, and reach up to 90 m.p.h. Fully equipped, each costs one third of a million pounds. When invited for a spin, how could I resist? Please note I am not a member of the Fire Service and cannot deal with queries in this respect (but you can E-mail me anyway).

Boughton Barracuda Airport Fire Tender
The sophisticated and professional approach to passenger and aircrew safety means that Humberside International Airport enjoys the safety resources which are usually only found at comparitively larger international airports.

These web pages tell you about the Barracuda's specifications and equipment, and there are plenty more unique photos too. I hope you enjoy this priveleged inside-view of the world-famous Boughton Barracuda! Many thanks to the HIA Fire Service and especially Barry Pearman for arranging this memorable experience.
